The product
These features exist in the Leytgo pilot app today, on Android and iPhone. They are being validated in real conditions around Brussels.
Passengers are matched with drivers already on the move, using the part of their route still ahead of them.
On the driver's route, within the walking distance the passenger accepts. Walking and waiting are counted in every time shown.
Compare route options, then cap the extra time: detour, pick-up and possible wait included.
Immediate departures or a one-hour window, with suggestions to leave a little earlier when that finds a match.
The passenger requests, the driver accepts or declines. Both see the same terms. Nothing is ever accepted for anyone.
Chat once the trip is agreed, structured reviews, reporting and blocking.
Roadmap
One journey, several modes. Walk to a meeting point, ride with a driver for the stretch transit does not serve well, then continue by metro, tram or train. One carpool segment, fitted into the rest of the journey.
FAQ
Leytgo is a real-time carpooling app. It connects drivers and passengers heading the same way, using trips drivers already make, with a meeting point on the driver's route within walking distance.
Classic carpooling is mostly planned in advance, from city to city. Leytgo is built for everyday trips, including right when you leave: it can match a passenger with a driver who is already on the road, using the part of the route still ahead.
The driver sets the maximum extra time they accept, detour and pick-up included. Leytgo suggests a meeting point on the driver's route, within the walking distance the passenger accepts. Both must agree before the trip is confirmed.
Leytgo is in development. The Android and iPhone apps are being field-tested around Brussels ahead of a public launch.
The pilot runs in the Brussels area, Belgium. The target regions are Europe, the United States and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
That is on the Leytgo roadmap: one carpool segment combined with walking and metro, tram or train, in a single journey.
